Joining the AMTA CT Chapter
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you just needed to sound off, or vent, or ask questions of someone who would give you an objective outlook? As massage therapists, we are often isolated from other massage therapists. No other national organization includes local chapters to support you throughout your career as a Massage Therapist.
As a member of the AMTA CT Chapter, you can network with fellow massage therapists and form life-long friendships. It can be very comforting to know that you aren’t in this alone. You have opportunities to learn from some of the best therapists in the state.
As a member, you have input into the course of the profession and the direction of the chapter. Remembering that AMTA is a member driven, not-for-profit organization, your membership gives you the right and the responsibility to let your voice be heard.
How you can become a member of the CT Chapter of the AMTA:
To join the AMTA CT Chapter, you need to either live in CT or work at least one day a week in CT. Here is how you can join:
- Online at www.amtamassage.org
- ask our Chapter's Membership Director to mail you an application
There are many ways to access the CT Chapter:
- Going to meetings (there are four per year) is the easiest way to meet like-minded people and to become involved with the massage therapy community, to learn and to have fun!
- You can join the award-winning Sports Team and enjoy the looks of people who need our gifts before and/or after a sports event.
- You can join a chapter committee or workgroup. There are many opportunities which could fit into your busy schedule. Many of the committees and workgroups have opportunities that can take as little as an hour every few months, or even a once a year commitment.
- You can always check out our website often and bookmark it or save it to your favorites list so you can find it easily. It is very informative and allows you to contact members of the Chapter to get involved in any number of things. You just need to say, "Count Me In!"
- Sign up for our e-blasts, which are emails that we send out to announce news and upcoming events.
We want our members to be active, to join in the fun of the meetings, to participate to their ability so that each has a part in this award winning Chapter, to let the Board of Directors know what the membership needs to succeed as a massage therapist. Our Chapter is about YOU, the MEMBER!
