Awards & Recognitions

Is there a CT AMTA member you know who you would like to see recognized for their contribution and a job well done?

Do you know someone who deserves ‘thanks’ for their commitment to making a difference in the massage community or the community at large?

Each year we take pleasure in honoring deserving individuals during our April Chapter meeting through Awards and Certificates of Appreciation. It is important and it is fun!

If you know of someone who deserves consideration, we would like to hear from you.

Please take the time to complete and submit an AMTA CT Chapter Awards and Recognition application form [.doc][.pdf] . Application forms as well as a brief description of the different awards are available within the CT Chapter Newsletter and on the CT Chapter Website.

Application received the last week in March will be reviewed by the Awards and Recognitions Committee as part of the selection process. Please review the summaries below.

Great Achievement Award: Carol Radzunas

This year it was our pleasure to present a new award, the Great Achievement Award, to Carol Radzunas. Carol introduced our chapter to the Dental Mission of Mercy three years ago and through her continued commitment and enthusiasm she has led our CT Chapter volunteers in making a significant contribution to this worthy cause ever since. This year despite being held the same weekend as the New England Regional Conference, there were 33 massage therapists participating over the course of the two days and 457 massages were provided to the dental staff.

As a chapter, we applaud this effort; we enjoyed viewing the event on the YouTube video, and we congratulate Carol and all the vounteers for this outstanding achievement.

President's Award: Lee Stang

The President’s Award is given to an individual of the chapter president’s choosing. This year’s President’s Award recipient is Lee Stang. Scott Raymond presented the award and expressed his appreciation to Lee in these words:

“The recipient of the President’s Award this year is a powerful and
dynamic individual.  She is a woman who is someone that I look up to.
She is strong, compassionate, balanced..... fair, and over the course of
her massage therapy career, she has dedicated a large portion of her
time to the AMTA on both the chapter and the National level.  She has
mentored me, has given me council, and I could not do this job without
her.  The plaque reads……'It's not what you do once in a while, it's what
you do day in and day out that makes the difference.'

She dedicates herself everyday to the betterment of herself, the
profession, and this organization day in and day out.  She is a
professional in the field and she is passionate in everything she does.”

Congratulations Lee.
