CSMT Emergency Division Chair
Deby has been a member of the AMTA since her graduation from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy and her licensure in 1996. She was been on the faculty at CCMT from 1998 to 2015 and has taught various workshops. Although she has been active in many different aspects of the Connecticut chapter, the Community Service Massage team holds a special place in her heart. Deby became very involved with the predecessor of CSMT, MERT (Massage Emergency Response Team) during September, 2001 deploying to Ground Zero in New York with Connecticut’s newly formed team. Since then, she has been very active working with other chapter members to develop Connecticut’s CSMT. Deb worked with Lee Stang to create the training and training manual for CSMT which is being used as the template for many other chapters and also at the national level of the AMTA where Deb served as a member of National’s CSMT training work team. She has conducted this training many times over the last 10 years, often with Lee, usually in Connecticut but also in New York and Missouri. In the Fall of 2015, she stepped into a new role for her, that of Emergency Division chair. Deb loves to share her passion for CSMT, have fun, encourage team spirit and continue the vibrant tradition of service in the Connecticut chapter.
