Chapter Elections Coming Up in April

It's not too early to think about Chapter elections. In April we will select our leadership in the positions of President and Vice President. Lee Stang, having served for two terms, will be stepping down as Chapter president. It is important for members to come out and voice your thoughts and opinions through the election process especially in light of this transition.

In addition to the positions mentioned above, the following seats will also be elected: Secretary, Education Director, Membership Director, and Sports Team Director. Chapter Delegates and Alternatives will be selected to represent us at the 2009 National Convention.

For job descriptions of these positions, and for a Candidate Eligibility Form for AMTA Office/Delegate, please click here.

National AMTA Election Changes in 2008

[Dec, 2007] Now that we have completed the mail ballot for 2007 we would like to announce we have some exciting changes in the 2008 elections!

Based on research provided by AMTA’s Election Recruitment and Election Process Workgroup, the AMTA National Board of Directors approved changes for the 2008 elections which will begin on March 1, 2008.

AMTA is moving to online voting. In 2008 we will use a hybrid election process allowing professional members to vote either online or submit a paper ballot.Professional members will receive an election packet as in the past; however this packet will also provide instructions for online voting.Professional members with a current email address will also receive an email with instructions for online voting.

Please pay special attention to the Jan/Feb edition of Hands-On as it will include more details regarding the new process, along with emails providing you the information you need to understand the changes to the voting process.

If you have questions please contact Gail Friedman, Governance Program Manager at gfriedman@amtamassage.org .
