The 2009 Sports Massage Team officially ended the season with their Annual Brunch on March 7 th, 2010. It was again held at the beautiful Downtown Hartford Hilton, on what turned out to be a beautiful, early Spring day. More than 60 Team Members and guests came out to enjoy a delicious meal and the festivities.

We proudly celebrated being named, once again, the National Sports Massage Team of the Year! After giving ourselves a rousing round of applause, we welcomed Carly Graytock Shea as our keynote speaker. As both an elite marathoner and a massage therapist, Carly shared her personal story of how massage has been instrumental in her training and her injury rehabilitation process and how this experience help lead her to pursue a career as an LMT. It was a pleasure to have Carly and her husband, Tim as our guest and we thank Kerry Methot for suggesting her for our event.

The day would not have been complete without the presentation of the Annual Sports Massage Therapist of the Year Award. This year, Stephen Callis received the coveted award. Steve gave a tremendous amount of his time, energy and expertise to the Connecticut Sports Massage Team. We say Thank You and Congratulations to Steve!

Great company, great food, great speaker, great pictures and great memories. All in all, a fun time was had by all!

Here are some facts and figures for the 2009 Sports Massage Team:

2386 massages given

204 Pre-Event

2182 Post-Event

143 LMT’s participated

138 CCMT MT3 Students participated

13 events

12- single day events

2 day event

Those numbers represent 350 more massages than last year’s award winning totals!

We’d like to thank every LMT and each CCMT Student who volunteered their time at a 2009 Team Event. We hope to see you at a few events this coming season!
